Ark
This loft/gallery space in chinatown, Boston, was host to a 12-month series of performances and visual art. Art openings, video and music performances and a healthy rotation of installations gave this space vital signs that fueled Boston's DIY art scene. Ark's success was due to the committment of many energetic people who are dedicated to improving Boston's art spaces. Go to the
Ark webpage to read about the focus of each show and what artists and performers were included. The slide show below is from Type Specimen, co-curated with Maggie Haas. Click on the slideshow for larger photos and visit my picasa site to see photos from other Ark shows.

Distillery Open Studios Screenings
I curated this film/video series at the Distillery artist building in South Boston in 2006 & 2007, while I was a resident. I began this project as a way to learn more about experimental film and video art, just as I started making video art. Descriptions of the artists that were featured in each Screenings are linked to below, and here's a photo slideshow of the Spring 2007 Screenings, Resuscitate.

Fourth Wall
Film/video series I curated twice at the Enormous Room in Cambridge. Forth Wall is a term that refers to breaking down the barrier between a performance and the viewers. The films and video art that were included in this series were choosen specifically because they engage the audiance. I wish that I had longer to develop this series but moving to Baltimore and dealing with the confines of the Enormous Room restricted its life to only two nights. Check out the
Fourth Wall webpage for more information on the films that were shown.
